Inverters are an important part of your solar PV system; they play the role of converting the energy produced by the panels (DC) into a useable source to power your home (AC).

Insolation is a measure of solar radiation energy on a given surface area in a given time period.
Although geography plays a part in output, optimally inclining your solar panels through knowledge of insolation drastically improves the energy produced when compared with horizontally mounted panels.
