Solar Panel Design

There's plenty to consider when addressing the design of your PV system. We've got it all covered. Just get in touch for free expert advice today.

    Inverters

    Inverters

Inverters are an important part of your solar PV system; they play the role of converting the energy produced by the panels (DC) into a useable source to power your home (AC).

Not all inverters are made equal, so choosing the wrong one could reduce the yield of your PV system. Even where you decide to store your inverter can dramatically affect system performance, so we will always recommend the most suitable place (and it's not usually the loft!). Some inverters even offer internet connectivity, so let us know if this is something you'd like to explore.

    Irradiance

    Irradiance

Irradiance is a measure of solar radiation energy on a given surface area in a given time period.

Although geography plays a part in output, optimally inclining your solar panels through knowledge of insolation drastically improves the energy produced when compared with horizontally mounted panels.

    SHADING

    SHADING

Any panel in shade can see a power reduction of up to 50%, and even a single panel in shade can affect the whole array.

The avoidance of shading is crucial in order to make the most out of your panel outputs, so we will always design your system with consideration of shading from localised objects such as chimneys or satellite dishes, surrounding buildings and trees.

    CALCULATIONS

    CALCULATIONS

We follow the MCS Standard Estimation Method to accurately determine a value for your expected yield without misselling or overestimation, giving you peace of mind that you can trust our calculations.

We use a comprehensive combination of calculations, taking into account the electrical rating for your PV array, your postcode region, the pitch &orientation of the panels, shading factors and the kWh/kWp (Kk) for your specific location. This information helps us to design the best system for your project, maximising the efficiency of your panels to increase energy yield, all within your budget.

    PV SOL

    PV SOL

To back up our calculations, we also use PV*SOL, intelligent software that offers the most detailed configuration and shade analysis for PV systems.

The software allows us to calculate solar output, panel sizing and economic forecast for your system. We can then provide you with accurate predictions and financial forecasting within your detailed proposal.

You can rest assured that our in-house experts will take care of your solar project from start to finish, achieving the best possible value from your investment.
