What is the Great British Energy Funding Scheme?

The Great British Energy Initiative – Bringing Solar to Local Communities

GBE is a £200 million initiative to boost renewable energy across the UK. The program funds solar panel installations for 200 schools and 200 NHS sites - helping institutions cut energy costs and meet sustainability goals.

Sites are selected by the Department for Education (DfE) and NHS Trusts.

This initiative is designed to:

Slash energy bills by up to £25,000 annually per school
Save NHS sites up to £45,000 per year
Reduce carbon emissions and boost sustainability
Support local communities through clean energy

GBE For Schools

Funded Solar for Schools – Backed by the DfE

The Department for Education is selecting schools for the program, prioritising areas of deprivation in the North East, North West, and West Midlands. You do not need to apply - selected institutions will be contacted directly.

If your school is selected, we can assist with designing and installing your solar PV to maximise your funding and get the most from your grant.

GBE For NHS Sites

Solar Energy for NHS Sites – Delivered with Zero Disruption

The NHS has already run an expression of interest process to identify eligible locations. These installations will be managed at the Trust level.

Eligible NHS sites identified through the Trust-level Expression of Interest (EOI) process can now access funding for solar panels. We handle everything from design and installation to compliance and reporting.
